Australian Stock Exchange

Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) The stock exchange based in Sydney, which in 1987 superseded the exchanges in Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, and Perth. It abolished fixed-rate commissions in 1984 and adopted fully automated trading in October 1990. ASX issues the All-Ordinaries share index as well as the subsidiary indices, the All-Industrials share index and All-Resources share index.
